This is a sample of the list that you will purchase here. The sheet gives you information regarding the following-
State - This helps you geographically locate the program you are applying to.
Place - It helps to narrow down to the city since that is where you will spend the next 3 years of your life.
ACGME No - This detail is important for you to correctly locate your program since there are many which have multiple names and programs within a single hospital/university. This is a unique id which will help you make your list.
Program Name - Obviously!
No of Seats - This can be the tie breaker. It helps to identify programs that have more seats so if one had to choose between 2 programs with the rest remaining equal, you could choose the one with maximum seats since that will increase your chances of getting into a program.
Deadline for applying - It is good to know the deadline because you could qualify for some program in November, and be eligible to apply since they are still accepting applications.
The cut of limit of years since graduation - For many programs this is a criterion.
USMLE scores - Many programs have specific number as their minimum requirements and many other simply need a pass score for applying. However a good score obviously helps.
No of attempts - Again many programs supplement their request for USMLE scores with number of attempts.
US Clinical experience (USCE) - Many programs also have this requirement and are very particular that the candidates have USCE to apply to them.
No of months of USCE - This number is stated by some programs as a pre-requisite to apply.
Visa Sponsor - Information for IMG's so that they do not waste their money applying to programs that do not sponsor Visa.
Type of Program (University, Community Hospital...etc) - Type of hospital is important since university hospitals may be research oriented and community hospitals may be more treatment oriented. Extra comments regarding the program criteria - This is required since many programs have some additional requirements or suggest special type of experience required to qualify for the program. Contact Name & Information - The contact person, his/her email and phone number.
